Besuch der Kimchi Kickers Korea (Korea Germans)
in Jakarta, 18. - 20. November 2005

This weekend we had Kai's former team from Seoul - the famous Kimchi Kickers Korea (KKK) - visiting us. It started with the welcome party on Friday evening at Taverne, however only Andre, Kai, Marc, Ralph and myself were present to welcome the 9 guys from Korea. There, they already got some nice impressions of Indonesia, so after Taverne was closed, they all decided to stay in the hotel and prepare for the match.

That was held at Ciputat Saturday afternoon and according to Kai the target of KKK was to score a goal, which they easily exceeded. Since they had only 8 players they were supported from the German Plus squad with Tungki, Irfan, Joseph, Freddy, Ralph, Marc, Kai and our dear Dudung.

German Plus played with Mulyono, Ardi, Hermann, Chris, Mattia, Tobias, Nico, Frederic, Salomon, Ingo, Darius and Howie. Dieter who still cannot play, was joined at the sideline by spectators Frank Kleinteich, Marius (suffering from injury as well), "Silent Dale", Bernhard and the CEB (Chief Executive Butler) of Ralph.

Howie sinniert nach dem Spiel ...It was a goal festival! German Plus took the lead quickly thanks to a goal by Tobias. But within minutes KKK equalized (Jochen's first goal for his team according to Kai). Frederic then made it 2-1, but quickly KKK stroke back thanks to a goal of Wendelin. Then James of KKK played handball on the goal line and Frederic converted the penalty. 5 goals in the first half, score 3-2. Another 4 goals were scored in the second half, but all for German Plus, as it appeared that the preparation of KKK obviously was not good enough. These goals were scored by Mattia, Howie, Salomon and Darius. So, goals: Frederic (2), Tobias, Mattia, Howie, Salomon and Darius.

After club flags were exchanged and photos were taken we proceeded to the house of Dieter, where Lies once more had prepared excellent food. Frank Arnold and Stefan Padberg joined us for diner, all the beers were finished, Ardi and Joseph were completely drunk, and around 23:00h or so the KKK team supported by some German Plus tour guides left in order to discover and intensify the contacts to the Indonesian people. Today this cultural fact finding tour will be rounded up with a visit to Taman Mini. Thanks a lot to our nice hosts Lies and Dieter !!
